From skydives to cycling hundreds of miles, activpayroll, the global payroll and tax compliance specialist has successfully raised £16,683.50 this year for four Scottish charities through a range of challenges and fundraising initiatives.
activpayroll’s Aberdeen and Edinburgh offices have had a busy year raising funds for Maggie’s, Charlie House, Sands Lothians and Friends of Anchor. In just a nine month period, team members have taken part in a total of 14 fundraising activities.
To kick off the fundraising for 2018, activpayroll organised the very first Maggie’s Fizz Afternoon held at the Maggie’s Centre in Aberdeen. Over 100 women attended the event aimed to raise vital funds for the charity while raising awareness of the centre’s services. The team also took part in the Maggie’s Culture Crawl and Ride the North, raising a total of £10,925 for the centre.
To support Friends of Anchor, two teams from the Aberdeen office were formed, activAloha and activAusse took on 12 obstacle games in the Anchor Wipeout. Susan Glennie and her husband also took part in Glack Attack, a 5K oud run with over 25 obstacles in challenging and muddy terrain.
The Edinburgh team picked Sands Lothians as their chosen charity and took part in challenges including a tandem skydive, Tour O the Borders, the Edinburgh Kiltwalk and the Kelpies Supernova Night Run. The Edinburgh office has been taking part in dress down weeks and bake sales throughout the year to raise additional funds for the charity.
activpayroll also put its efforts into helping Charlie House, sponsoring their Easter Workshop and donating Easter eggs. In addition, the Aberdeen office has been taking part in dress down weeks and bake sales throughout the year to raise additional funds for the charity which will help support their ‘Big Build Appeal’.
Alison Sellar, CEO of activpayroll, said: “I’ve always made sure that charity is a big part of our company, it makes me very proud to see the team taking on some seriously tough challenges in order to help others. The Maggie’s Fizz Afternoon was a personal highlight for me and I’m already looking forward to the 2019 event.”
