Alison Sellar, CEO of activpayroll, the global payroll and tax compliance specialist headquartered in Aberdeen has been shortlisted for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards – Scotland.
Alison is one of the twenty-eight business leaders from 23 of Scotland’s promising, pioneering and accomplished businesses, announced this week as the finalists for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards - Scotland.
Entrepreneur Of The Year UK has been celebrating, supporting and connecting entrepreneurs since it first launched in the UK more than 20 years ago. The programme recognises successful entrepreneurs making a positive impact on their society and the economy, and the legacies they’re building. Entrepreneur Of The Year UK runs in four regions – London & South, Midlands, North and Scotland.
For the first time, the awards dinner will take place in Dundee in June. The City of Discovery was considered the ideal location given its long established entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
From the 23 businesses, from the Hebrides to East Lothian, a number will be recognised at a ceremony at V&A Dundee, including the coveted title of ‘EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019 Scotland: Overall Winner’.
Those recognised will progress to the UK level of the competition before the overall process culminates in winners from around the globe vying for the title ‘EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year’.
Alison Sellar comments: “I am thrilled to be one of the nominated EY Scottish Entrepreneur Of The Year Finalists! Just to be recognised within this category is a massive honour. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support I have behind me from the activpayroll team across the globe, therefore this nomination is a testament not only to the hard work I’ve put in over the past 18 years as a CEO, but to the team that has contributed to activpayroll’s global success.”
