In 2016, the EU-US Privacy Shield replaced the Safe Harbour agreement which was deemed invalid by the Court of Justice for the European Union in 2015. The EU-US Privacy Shield is a mechanism for helping companies comply with the General Data Protection Regulation when transferring personal data out with the EEA to the US. Companies who self-certify for the Privacy Shield are deemed to have adequate data privacy controls in place and have committed to adhering to the principles of the framework and publicly declared this commitment within their published privacy policy.
activpayroll was officially certified with the EU-US Privacy Shield on 16th February 2018. The certification is approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA). As part of this process, the activpayroll privacy policy has been reviewed and approved by the ITA and has been published on the activpayroll website.
