This Christmas, activpayroll is helping to ensure no child in Scotland wakes up without a gift on Christmas morning by taking part in gift giving initiatives across its Edinburgh and Aberdeen offices.
In order to help as many underprivileged families as possible this Christmas, the activpayroll team is supporting four Scottish children’s charities, Children 1st, Befriend a Child, With Kids and Charlie House.
After supporting the Befriend a Child Giving Tree Appeal for two years and it proving to be very popular in the Aberdeen office, activpayroll was keen to take part again in 2018. Gift tags with the age of a boy or girl were displayed and all team members were given the opportunity to choose a tag and purchase a suitable gift.
This year the charity also gave supporters the opportunity to give the gift of friendship by making a cash donation that will go towards a fun activity for a child including, cinema trips, BMX lessons, trampoline park sessions and fishing lessons. Befriend a Child supports disadvantaged and troubled school-aged children and young people growing up in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and make it their mission to “turn a frown upside down”.
activpayroll also displayed a range of tickets with the age of a child and a suggested gift in order to support Children 1st, Scotland’s National Children’s charity that help Scottish families put Children 1st with practical advice and support at difficult times. In addition to this, team members were also given the opportunity to provide gifts for parents in the form of a food package or toiletries that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.
Edinburgh based charity, With Kids, was the Edinburgh teams chosen charity for a second year in a row. Similar to that of the Befriend Giving Tree, the Edinburgh team created a giving tree in the office and displayed a range of tags for team members to choose from. With Kids is a children’s mental health charity that works with vulnerable children and families to provide a range of individual, social and practical support.
activpayroll helped out one of their 2018 chosen charities, Charlie House, by donating money to buy Manual Slings, these are used to help children be safely moved from their wheelchairs to either a changing bench or activity.
Alison Sellar, CEO of activpayroll, said: “We know that Christmas isn’t always a happy time for some children and the thought of a child waking up on Christmas morning with nothing or very little is heart-breaking. The generosity of the activpayroll team continues to amaze me, this year some people were taking multiple tags. We truly hope our efforts and those of many other businesses help bring a smile to many this festive season.”
