In order to help as many underprivileged families as possible this Christmas, the activpayroll team is supporting a variety of charities:
Beyond Social Services
The Singapore office donated toys and food parcels to Beyond Social Services, a charity dedicated to helping children and youths from less privileged backgrounds break away from poverty. Instead of having their traditional Christmas lunch this year, the team extended the celebration by having a lunch with the charity (pictured).
The Trussell Trust
Supports a nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty. Team members in Aberdeen donated a generous amount of food, including Christmas food packages containing festive treats.
Instant Neighbour – Giving Tree Appeal
Instant Neighbour works with parents and families living in difficult situations, many of these families are unable to afford to buy Christmas gifts for their children. Gift tags with the age and name of a boy or girl were displayed in the Aberdeen office and all team members were given the opportunity to choose a tag and purchase a suitable gift.
With Kids
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, With Kids was the Edinburgh team’s charity of choice for the third year in a row. Similar to that of the Instant Neighbour Giving Tree Appeal, the Edinburgh team created a giving tree in the office and displayed a range of tags for team members to choose from. With Kids is a children’s mental health charity that works with vulnerable children and families to provide a range of individual, social and practical support.
The Children’s Office Christmas Campaign
The Frankfurt team supported The Children’s Office with the project ‘Christmas Presents for Frankfurt Children’ by purchasing brand new toys to donate to the charity which will help support children living in difficult situations.
Santa Shoebox Project
The Cape Town office chose to support the Santa Shoebox Project this year, an initiative that collects and distributes personalised gifts of essential items and treats for underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia. Boxes include items such as toothbrushes, soap, sweets, toys and clothing.
Care Packages for the Homeless
The Florida team created care packages to distribute to the homeless around Venice, Florida. The team collected an assortment of supplies including toothpaste, non-perishable snacks, socks, deodorant, etc. These supplies will help those who would not otherwise have the funds to buy them.
