Having already completed a range of challenges in 2017 for the two charities, including the 26 mile Aberdeen Kiltwalk, the past couple of months have seen the activpayroll team complete three massive challenges.
On Sunday 17th September, the Aberdeen and Edinburgh activpayroll offices came together to complete the Edinburgh Kiltwalk in aid of SAMH. The team of eight joined a group of over 3,000 participants and walked a total of 12 miles, starting and finishing at the iconic Murrayfield Stadium. Funds raised will go towards helping SAMH provide mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services, among others across Scottish communities.
Later on in September, two members of the Aberdeen team completed the Loch Ness Marathon in aid of Children 1st. On Sunday 24th September, Mhairi and Steve took in the stunning scenery of Loch Ness, starting and finishing the 26 miles at Bught Park in Inverness.
This month, Simon and Carolyn from the Edinburgh activpayroll office took the plunge and completed Scotland’s biggest abseil from one of the country’s most iconic structures to raise funds for Children 1st. The challenge saw the pair abseil (free-fall style) down the Forth Rail Bridge (a 165ft drop), landing on the sandy beach below in South Queensferry.
