Activpayroll, the global payroll and employee mobility solutions expert headquartered in Aberdeen, has launched the very first in-house payroll training academy in Scotland in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP).
The idea for an in-house training academy came into effect after activpayroll identified the importance to not only offer their employees in-depth on the job training, but also give them the opportunity to progress in their careers. The CIPP academy gives activpayroll employees in Aberdeen and Edinburgh the chance to gain the knowledge and qualifications needed to pursue a successful career in payroll services. The academy’s services are available to all employees regardless of their career or educational background.
Activpayroll and the CIPP were thrilled to have the support of George Yule, Executive Vice Chairman of Aberdeen Football Club and George Prentice, Finance Director at the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce who both attended the launch in Aberdeen to show their enthusiasm towards the new academy.
Attending the event was Mr Lindsay Melvin, CEO of the CIPP, who said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside activpayroll to launch the new academy and we’re incredibly excited to broaden our presence here in Scotland. activpayroll has a proud heritage and this new academy forms a key part of helping to train the payroll stars of tomorrow alongside a leading light in the payroll sector. We’re confident it will be a winning partnership.”
Alison Sellar, CEO of activpayroll, said: "I am really enthusiastic to finally launch our training academy in collaboration with the CIPP. We've worked really hard over the last thirteen years to grow activpayroll to be a recognised global brand and I believe this is down to our team’s ongoing efforts. For this reason, we want to ensure the development of our staff by creating an in-house payroll academy.”
The CIPP’s National lead for Scotland, Allan Isdale, also welcomed the launch of the academy, adding “This partnership with activpayroll marks an exciting new chapter for the CIPP. We’re delighted to be involved in helping to play a crucial part in raising awareness of the payroll industry and helping to broaden the appeal of the industry to new people. We’re looking forward to the coming weeks and months.”
