Supporting Thangam Illam, a non-profit organisation set up to provide assistance and support for orphans and children from underprivileged communities
Taking time to support those in need is a key part of our CSR programme and one our team in Kuala Lumpa demonstrated in abundance when they visited a local children’s centre.
When the team visited Thangam Illam, a non-profit organisation set up to provide assistance and support for orphans and children from underprivileged communities they took along a donation of food and other goods. They also used the opportunity to find out more about how the home has supported local children over the past 27 years.
Andrew explained what a privilege it was to visit the centre: ‘It was a very humbling experience to see first-hand the work the staff and volunteers do there and how much their efforts are appreciated by the children and wider community.
‘Before our visit our team, led by Siti, Amrit and Thiva, amassed a large collection of food, clothing, house products, schoolbooks, and Laptops which we took with us.’
The goods and the visit were warmly welcomed by all at Thangam Illam and our team took the opportunity to chat with the children.
Andrew added ‘It was amazing to see how the effort from the team had such a real and immediate impact to those who have been less fortunate in life.’
‘With no direct support from the government we are keen to do what we can going forward to continue working with the organisation to make the lives of the children that little bit easier.’
