Payroll Operations Manager – APAC.
What do you do at activpayroll?
I manage activpayroll’s APAC operations in the Singapore office.
What key skills do you bring to activpayroll?
I have 12 years of international payroll experience working for global companies both in-house and in payroll outsourcing environments.
What gives you the most satisfaction about your job?
It brings me great satisfaction to be able to share the knowledge I’ve gained from my various roles over the years with others.
How did you get into the Payroll industry and why?
Like many, I also landed in the payroll industry by accident. 12 years ago I was hired as a Case Manager to handle payroll escalations and the rest is history!
What has been the most challenging project you’ve worked on at activpayroll and why?
One of the most challenging situations I’ve experienced so far at activpayroll happened a couple of years ago when I was doing 11 payroll implementations at the same time. There were some crazy and tiring moments which meant I was working long hours. I got through this challenging time thanks to being surrounded by great people who exude resilience and positivity.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement outside of activpayroll?
Being a mother is my greatest achievement, all the sacrifices I’ve made for my daughter are worth it.
What company value means the most to you and why?
Accountable - I learned early on in my career about the value of accountability, personally this to me is a sign of maturity, responsibility, commitment and leadership.
Do you have any hobbies/what do you like to do in your free time?
I love to travel, take long walks and listen to great jazz music.
Who is your professional role model and why?
I have so many role models and I cannot name them all. Each of them has been instrumental to what I have become and what I have achieved.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?
I think it would have to be Pope Francis, a dinner at the Vatican would be nice. His calmness and humility is radiating, it’s a breather amid chaos.
